A cocktail-style length is a good length; not only because it keeps the sand off your dress but also it allows for ease of movement, remember it’s not as easy to walk on sand as it is on grass or hard ground. Also avoid heavy beading or multiple layers as it’s going to be hotter on the beach than in a church. You may want to consider a simple fabric adorned with sequins, embroidery and maybe some crystals. This will have the benefit of making you feel free and at one with the environment not struggling to contend with it. Ideal fabrics include silk, crepe, linen and chiffon. Polyester can also work well but remember that it’s not natural and so may make you skin sweat a little. Beach wedding dresses tend to show more skin and so common styles include halter-tops and spaghetti straps and it’s not uncommon for them even to be backless or strapless. Veils must be kept short because they become impossible to manage in windy conditions so you might want to do without one all together. Why not consider a tiara or ask your hairdresser to decorate your locks with flowers or a gem stone headband.
